Touching Spirit Bear:Chapter 28

I think the Spirit Bear taught many lessons in this story. At the pond, it seemed like Peter was trying to show Cole what it felt like to be beaten senseless. Cole, instead of getting angry and hitting Peter back, just let him beat him. I think this let Peter realize that he shouldn't be angry either. When the Spirit Bear appeared, Cole showed it to Peter. Peter was afraid that nobody would believe that they saw it but Cole said all that mattered was that they believed they saw it. I think the Spirit Bear represents trust, friendship, loyalty, and many other things to Peter and Cole. The lesson of the Spirit Bear, to me, taught me that in order to forgive yourself, you have to learn to forgive others. Saying your sorry never makes the situation go away.
