Touching Spirit Bear:Chapter 11 and 12

When Cole is laying in the hospital bed, he says, "I am okay." Cole really is okay. Not physically of course but emotionally and spiritually he is. When Cole was lying on the wet and muddy ground on the island, he thought he was going to die. He looks up and he sees birds flying around, the pretty water, and sky. He smells the pine trees, salt water, moss, and plants. He realizes that, "The world is really a beautiful place." He thought the if he was going to die, at least he got to see beauty. Being isolated on that island was a real eye opener for Cole. I don't think he will ever go back to the way things used to be.
